Taming Cygnus

Me and My Friend Cyggy Stardust
Twinkle twinkle in the sky
Fill my wings and help me fly
You are so wonderful! I threw a little hissy fit last week about not being happy with the outcome of a drawing, and y'all gave me such great support. Thank you for that. I feel better now. I also discovered that Godzilla will improve just about anything. See what I mean?

Oh love love love! So sweet..Rawr! How are ya hon?? Sarah
Well of course, Godzilla will improve anything. Let's see a lot more of that type of thing here, then I can really roll my sleeves up and leave some manly yet geeky comments.
BTW: Did you know that Godzilla's RAWR as you say, was created by recording a squeeky pipe fitting and then slowing down the playback sound? Well, that's what I heard in the most hippest corners of the Comic Con, anyway.
Oh I get it; Cyggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. That's a good one.
I have the text for a children's book that I wanted to write kicking around this place somewhere. When I see your illustrations like this one, it makes me realize that the words don't matter much! Lovely!
Je ne sais pas comment on conjugue le verbe "rawr" mais en français je dirais "j'aime" !...
Oui, j'aime ton adorable illustration. Cette petite fille qui offre son pain à ce cygne céleste est très poétique.
M E R V E I L L E U X !
Gros bisous à toi ma chère amie.
hey I right cklicked your pic and selected "view sauce" and all I got was a bunch of html code ... :)
heh, godzxilla is about to be exed with a Fat French stick, poor monster doesn' tknow what is about to crunch on him,
well me I like the pattern on the ground, I think that 'rocks' - can I take me head out of the drawers yet?
:)
I thinkl When I see your illustrations like this one, it makes me realize that the words don't matter much! Lovely! comment by Andrew is spot on - and I like Martine's too, but I wonder what she said :) just kidding Martine, gros bisous from here too :)
I meant "Andrea's comment" not Andrew's comment = gah :)
Hi Bella,
Fabulous as always, dear friend.
Love that Godzilla is going to be hit with the French bread. Rawrrrr!
Hope you are enjoying the week
hugs
Carolyn
Oooooohhhhh..... your work does this strange to me, I always feel like a hug!! But there's nobody here, so I'm hugging my desk! (Thanks to you!)
Hey, that Mr. Godzilla sure is awesome. But did you know that a mustache would make anything look good too? I think he could use one... :))
melt.
i adore your twinkle twinkle verse
+ all this girl reaches for.
sending you love w/wings n rawr.
xoxox
<3 <3 <3 I never knew a baguette to have such powers...
oooooooooh Bella, I so love this so much!!! Her hair is awesome. Will you come and fix mine like hers? pretty please? :D
Hee hee! Okay, I was so in love with your illustration and I was swooning and oohing and awing and then I saw GODZILLA! hahahaha! You are too funny. I am still in love with the new illustration but Godzilla has given me the giggles. xox!
Beautiful... I just love a star filled sky, especially on a summer night. Thanks for sharing :)
Awe, awe, awe.....
This is so touching and poetic (I don´t mean Godzilla but the star- goose ;0)
This is one of the most beautiful paintings of all the beautiful paintings I saw the last years.
It makes me want to hug the little girl. Ohhhhhh.
Have a great weekend and thank you for the magic
Bella, that starry picture is fahrr out. I mean it's out o' this world! I mean well...YOU know what I mean ;-)
"Little girl, climb ladder atop globe, to hear songs of swans..."
Do Godzillas always wear a smile? Well, so do I...unless (What's "male" for throwing g a hissy fit?--grin!).
Well, I gotts scroll down and see what else you've been up to here, my friend-of-friend, Sweet Bella!
PEACE!
Tsup
your little girls must think you are awesome and so much fun, once again you have me chuckling out loud!
love all the details, especially that she is up on her toes!
Ah hahah! The Godzilla was very unexpected. Nice one!
Another of your perfectly adorable little girls, and such a fancy hairstyle to meet her friend! I certainly hope he is appropriately impressed with her, particularly given her excellent offer of an entire baguette. So magical!
~laughing~
nothing like a Giant Lizard humor to make everything shine!
~laughing~
I am slacking in my officiousness!!! To be the 21st comment, imagine that! Aaaahh, but look, everyone else has said what I wanted to say, so I don't have to say anything more...yes, right. Pffft.
See? Amalia and I feel the same way about your illustrations, like a hug! Do you remember what I told you the other day?! When I see your work I instinctively pose my arms in a hugging position, although I don't hug my desk, I end up hugging myself! Hehehehe.
Aaah, that hairdo is a piece of work. Karen will look good in that hair style. I feel like pinching her buttocks (the girl's). I think Cygnus will be more tempted to gobble that entire baguette if it was made of garlic and pesto. Do you think Cygnus woul like a footlong smoked turkey with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and bell peppers, or would that be too close to cannibalism?
Okay Okay. I am losing it.
Seriously, It is so peaceful, warm, endearing and soothing. Like everyone of your illustrations, it reminds me that the world is a loving and lovely place. I love your drawing and you!
Good night.
TSUP!!!
LOVLEY!!!

:) Eeeep! I love this, Bella..especially her loaf of bread!! You truly do magic, I tell you. I've missed your other post! Shame on me. The water is beautiful but I hear you..when that certain something isn't working, I get to that point where I can't even look at it anymore and have to start on a new sheet. Yay for Godzilla! You cracketh me up, my friend. Happy weekend to you, Bella!
please tell me you are happy with your twinkle drawing! please please please. that should be on every child's wall.
with respect to godzilla, stay tuned to your mailbox.
Ciggy Stardust! Hahaaa!
Another beautiful and sweet illustration. Love, love, love her hair.
And Godzilla, fantastic, where do you come up with these things?
I want to be friends with your brain.
Hello again!!!
Thank you so much, Your words always makes me happy! Just like your drawings!
I haven't been blogging or reading blogs in a while, started again a couple of months ago, but I want you to know that your blog was one of those blogs that I really missed stopping by! You have such a lovley blog! <3 <3 <3
Yes, sisters really are the BEST! ;)
xx
Bella! You are posted at top of the order in my sidebar. If it is disagreeable to you for any reason, tell me. Otherwise it stays.
(Ahem!) Need to say that a position on my sidebar--if I was POPE!--is same like being canonized--grin!!!!!!!
Bye!
Say WHAT?!!! Steve put you on top of me?!!! Sigh***
P.S. Everyone here loves Cygnus. Tsup!
lol... love it all, puns included!
thx bella :)
Sweet and cute! Haha love mr. godzilla in here. Got my eye on your next doodles.
I'm glad you realize how much you ROCK! :) I love those old classic monster movies, especially Saturday mornings, when I was a kid. Thanks for sending me back there. :) :)
Love the 'painting in the sky' (but I am a bit afraid of the large dinosaur...)
Hilarious! I love it all! Rawr :)
I do not understand why you can't see the shoe. You love the art of Joan Miro. He painted so many things he alone saw. You draw women as waterfall and the constellation as a swan. My sister says many Filipinos get poisoned by the Amanita. Maybe they like the color but I remember growing up, people died over there from eating mushrooms.
Oh, Tsup!
Yes, where is your mustache?
Your Fu Manchu?
so very very lovely indeedy.
I love that her world is a bed of roses.
Godzilllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa so glad he's always there to save the day.
Rawwwwwwererrr are you dressing up as him for Halloween!?!?
furgot: if you go back to kathleen's post on my page, and use mouse to hilite the unseen text, you'll get more info ;)
a blessed samhain to you and yours, m'dear bella :)
he he he he he he he he he!! Oh this is hilarious! Oh my goodness how funny!! Oh my word let me catch my breathe!! This is funny as heck. You are. The illustration is beautiful. Magnificent and so filled with joy and happiness. It's wonderful! Sending you a massive purplie hug!
I didn't realize you were an East coaster as well, Bella! Gosh, it's so tough to see the images of reality that NY and NJ are facing right now...it makes me so sad. I hope you are well my friend! With lots of pumpkin pie and butternut squash soup ahead in your near future! Happy November (Movember) to you..big hugs!
HAHAHAHAHAHA! I LOVE YOUR FU MANCHU!!! HAHAHAHAH! TSUP!!!
Bwahaha! Go Go Godzilla! :)
I love your cygnet. How wonderful to live in your head!
Dang! I never noticed Godzilla before :)
LOVE your 'stachio, dear Bella! Yes, hooky in the woods..too fun! I, alas, was the incredibly shy person in the back..hunched over trying to hide underneath my hood! Always doodling of course. Hope your week is going well and that there's been time for some relaxation and fun with the girls..in between all of that school and stuff. Hugs to you!
Oh such a sweet scene. The first one, before the arrival of Godzilla. lol
Oh I am no. 50! I doubt very much Oscar curated that himself. He has a staff. The email says they have to go through thousands of projects. I just copied that text from the site. They have darlings, and for a very good reason, they are masters, so every project they post is featured. I know three or four whose every project is featured. They are very very very good. The are from Russia, Bulgaria, China and New York. Mind-boggling. Makes my project look elementary.
Pffftttt! Based on what I have seen, some that are selected are some things I would not even give a second thought. You and I know that the selection is very subjective. I just mentioned it because in a way it is flattering but at the end of the day, it does not translate to anything for me because I don't earn a dime from it. So I feel good for a day. Thank you. I am not being ungrateful. It was flattering but not like the masters. Hah! Okay got to do serious work now.
Godzilla is still staring at that bread.
Too many foes in too many movies have made him suspicious of all gift-givers.
Bella, you are so amazingly talented! A wonderful visual poet. I LOVE your work...it makes me think of my favourite childhood illustrators whose pictures I would climb into and happily stay for hours. I hope you're well and getting as many giggles and smiles and sunshine in each day that you deserve :-) HUGE hugs from Dalston. London xx
The first one is magical, I love the Ziggy Stardust reference ( I'm a Bowie fan :))
The Godzilla version is very funny, it's nice to see him well-behaved instead of destroying a city :)
Great image...
Best wishes from Buenos Aires...
